The new STIHL MSA 220 C-B battery chainsaws impresses with both power and endurance. With its high chain speed, the MSA 220 C-B is the most powerful tool in the STIHL battery range, and guarantees a consistently high cutting performance regardless of the battery charge level. The tool is perfect for felling smaller trees and for chopping up smaller pieces of wood.
The MSA 220 C-B comes standard with the STIHL exclusive 3/8″ Picco Super 3 (PS3) full chisel saw chain with a guide bar length of 40cm/16″. The chain has a strong cut and a low kick-back, and its wider kerf also makes light work with the felling wedge.
The energy required to operate the MSA 220 C-B is supplied by a 36 V STIHL lithium-ion battery from the PRO battery range. The STIHL AP 300 S battery which was released in 2019 is recommended for this model. Not only does it give the MSA 220 C-B endurance, but it is also compatible with all other tools in the PRO battery range. The sturdy MSA 220 C-B cannot be stopped by rain and damp wood, and is also suitable for use in closed rooms. This makes it the ideal tool for professionals working in noise sensitive areas and for long periods of time. The quiet-running and easy to operate tool is more than capable of many tasks.
Powerful with a high chain speed
The STIHL MSA 220 C-B starts at the touch of a button, accelerates quickly and impresses with its consistently high cutting performance regardless of the battery charge level. Responsible for this is the electronically controlled brushless electric motor. This has an excellent efficiency and works almost wear-free. Thanks to the high chain speed of 24 m/s, work can be carried out quickly even when delimbing small-dimensioned wood.
Strong cutting full chisel saw chain
The MSA 220 C-B is fitted with a full chisel saw chain as standard: the STIHL exclusive 3/8″ Picco Super 3 has a powerful cutting strength, low vibrations and a low kickback. It ensures excellent cutting quality with a low chatter tendency. Its particularly high cutting performance increases energy efficiency. This pays off in up to 30 percent more cuts per battery charge compared to a corresponding semi-chisel chain. In addition, its wider kerf simplifies work with the felling wedge.
Ergonomic and comfortable
The MSA 220 C-B also shines in terms of working comfort. The raised and printed felling line enables precise targeting and exact work when felling small-dimensioned wood. Thanks to the compact design and the rubberized soft handle, the tool lies comfortably and securely in the user’s hand. Further practical details are the quick chain tensioner, which enable the chain to be retightened without tools, and the semi-transparent oil tank, which allows the user to keep an eye on the fill level at all times.
Modular battery system
The new AP 300 S 36 V lithium-ion battery is compatible with all tools in the PRO battery range. In addition to the new chainsaw, this includes more than 25 other tools for a wide variety of applications, as well as batteries with different energy supplies and chargers.
