Spring Into Action With The Latest From STIHL
With Spring comes new growth; both in your garden, and with STIHL’s rapidly expanding battery range. This season sees the introduction of not one, not two, but six new products to STIHL’s growing system of battery powered tools!
Five of these tools join the AK battery system; a range designed specifically for home users working in medium to large gardens which now boasts 16 tools.
This spring, we also welcome STIHL’s first battery backpack blower which has been designed with professional users in mind featuring a host of innovative safety and comfort features.
Let’s take a closer look at the new tools in the shed this spring.
RLA 240 Battery Scarifier
The RLA 240 is the first scarifier to join the STIHL range. Powered by the popular AK battery system, this new addition to the range means users can undertake all of their lawn care tasks with a single battery system. The RLA 240 gives users the option of either scraping their turf using the scarifying unit for better aeration, or for combing the dead grass and moss out of your lawn, also known as dethatching, using the aerator roller. Simply attach the tool you need in a few simple steps, adjust the working depth, and away you go.

SHA 56 Battery Vacuum Cleaner
Another very welcome addition to the STIHL AK battery system and one that has been long awaited since the launch of the AK system is the SHA 56 battery blower vacuum which does exactly what its name implies. Users now have the option to tidy the leaves and debris in their backyard before collecting them up and turning them into mulching them with the one single machine.
Switching between the two working modes can be done easily and quickly without the need for tools to ensure there is very minimal disruption to the user in between tasks and will quickly become your most helpful tool in the shed.

HSA 50 & HSA 60 Battery Hedge Trimmers
The expansion of the STIHL AK battery system doesn’t stop there! Also joining the range are two new handheld hedge trimmers which have been designed to take the trimming of hedges to a whole new level. The HSA 50 is the compact and lightweight option and it is perfect for tidying hedges around a home garden with its 50cm bar. The HSA 60 is the next step up and is capable of going that little bit further with a 60cm bar and boasts an impressive list of innovative features to make light, easy and enjoyable work of trimming hedges.

BGA 60 Battery Blower
But wait, there’s more! The BGA 60 battery blower is the fifth model to join the AK battery system this Spring alongside the existing, yet very popular, BGA 57. The compact construction of the new BGA 60 and the well-balanced build with a center of gravity close to the handle is designed to preserve energy and extend the battery run time, and the blowing tube is also adjustable in length so that users can adapt it to suit their height. Not only does this make it even more comfortable to use, it also avoids loss of blowing power due to excessive ground clearance. The BGA 60 also features a metal ring at the end of the round nozzle which is designed to prevent wear in the event that it makes contact with the ground.

BGA 300 Battery Backpack Blower
For professional users, we welcome the new BGA 300 Battery Backpack Blower, the first of its kind in the STIHL range. The BGA 300 is the most powerful blower in the range, and is perfect for professionals working over long periods and in noise sensitive areas, such as in parks, near schools, or in residential areas.
